My interests are best said in words by Aldo Van Eyck :

“To possess something we have to take possession. We have to make it part of ourselves; we have to take it in our hand,   touch it.”

To create a built environment that doesn’t stand out of the natural environment it is placed in, to design a system that works for a city, to craft a space that describes the lives of the people who use it; one needs to get involved with nature, with people, with the city. I like to approach my designs from the perspective of the city and see things through the eyes of the people who call it their home.

The fact that built environment can record time, living conditions, human aspirations and desires has led me to pursue architecture as a career. My designs lay emphasis on sustainable development and I believe it is time that sustainable design is not just identified as a branch of architecture but as the only design paradigm for the future. I find projects like “The Architecture of Consequence” initiated by the Netherlands Architecture Institute, “Small Scale Big Change – New Architecture of Social Engagement” by MoMa and work done by non profit organizations like “Architecture for humanity” very inspiring.

I have been a part of the aviation studio at Corgan since March 2014. I started my aviation design practice by working on DFW, Terminal Renewal and Improvement Program at the Corgan Dallas office  and made a move to the Corgan office at Los Angeles in April 2015 as it offered an opportunity to work on Midfield Satellite Concourse North Project which is a part of the modernization program underway at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). This is a Turner- PCL joint venture in collaboration with Corgan and Gensler. MSC will total over 1.4 M square feet and host 19 gates. The MSC project office is a space where the contractor, consultants and the design team works together, collaborating every step of the way.

I completed my Masters of Architecture degree from University of Houston, College of Architecture recently and am a LEED Green Associate. I worked as a teaching assistant for courses aimed at introducing the structural and environmental sides of architecture to both graduate and undergraduate students, for three semesters. I worked with Design Action Group, an urban design firm in India on restoration of Connaught Place, a big financial - recreational center in the national capital. I completed my Bachelors of Architecture in 2010 from Indraprastha University, New Delhi. During my final year 2009-2010, I was selected for the Urban Habitats Forum Fellows Programme, a multi-layered event that focused attention on improving livability, competitiveness, environmental sustainability and inclusion of built heritage in Indian cities.
